USA/CA: Anza Borrego Desert SP – Wildflower Megabloom of ’05
Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is a large park in the southern California with diverse geography and attractions – there are mountains, deserts, river canyons, waterfalls, slot canyons, and many fantastic hiking trails. But its biggest attraction without a doubt is the unbelievable variety of spring wildflowers that cover the ground in good years (of which the Superbloom of 2005 was clearly one). California Goldfiled, Desert Threadplant, Purplemat, Golden Poppy, Lupine, Desert Evening Primrose, Wild Canterberry Bell, and so many other species. Many cacti and ocotillo also bloomed at the same time.
