USA/NE: Total Solar Eclipse 2017
Back on the travel road… And here comes an event 99 years in the making – a total solar eclipse (the previous eclipse to hit USA was in 1918). This was my second total eclipse (I saw the 2015 even in the Faroe Islands), and sunny Nebraska seemed like a perfect location to watch it. For nearly an hour, the sun was getting obscured by the moon and for 2 minutes in the middle everything plunged into darkness. A definitive bucketlist item, and if you missed this one – the next one is only in 2021 Chile/Argentina, 2022 in Antarctica (penguins will freak out), Australia/Indonesia in 2023, and finally back to USA in 2024! Time to become an eclipse chaser.
