Saint Helena: St Paul’s Cathedral
St Paul’s Cathedral is the largest and oldest cathedral on St Helena (the key word here is cathedral as St James Anglican Church in Jamestown is actually older). The gothic building stands in the middle of the island in the small town of St Paul. The cathedral is rather small and old looking and the cemetery outside bears some centuries-old gravestones. Inside the cathedral, it’s dark and moldy and the only light comes from narrow stained glass windows and the open doors. The altar has beautiful carvings and decorations.
