Botswana: Savuti Landscapes
Savuti Channel and Linyanti Swamps present a stunning landscape in the wet season – the otherwise dry scrubland of white sand and mopane trees gets transformed into a spectacular expanse of green as leaves explode on trees, high grasses grow 6-feet high, water covers low areas, and flowers bloom. In many respects, Linyanti and Savuti areas are similar to the Okavango delta to the south. There are many different habitats here – mopane woodland, open grasslands, lagoons and waterways (including the permanent Savuti Channel) – and everything is green and full of life
