Botswana: Giraffes Fighting
Another incredible observation – two male giraffes fighting. Not exactly a gory or loud spectacle like with other animals, these two male giraffes (one older – darker, and one younger – lighter color) spent long time standing side by side, butt to butt, and push each other off balance. Twice, they did a full clockwise rotation with the darker one pushing the younger one out. Once in a while, one of them would get pissed off and swing the long neck and head and hit the other guy on his neck with a loud slap, and then go back to normal with butt-pushing. Surreal experience – a true giraffe standoff!
