Ukraine: Rohatyn – Wooden Holy Spirit Church
The town of Rohatyn has a couple interesting attractions like historic buildings and monuments, but the real showstopper is the UNESCO-listed wooden Church of the Holy Spirit. Despite the amazing wooden architecture of 1598, the iconostasis inside is almost intact with stunning icons covering most of the interior (its one of the oldest iconostasis in Europe). You can also climb into the bell tower. And all around the church is a medieval cemetery with centuries-old crosses and monuments. Oh, and you will likely have the whole church to yourself – no one comes to Ukraine In winter.
