Ukrainian food – rich, hearty, non-spicy, big portions, non-vegetarian, delicious, amazing. Salo (or salted pork fat) is perhaps the most famous and an absolute must have with horseradish and pickles and vodka. Ukrainian borsch (beet and cabbage and meat soup) is another classically national food. And of course vareniki (or dumplings stuffed with anything imaginable from meat to game to vegetables to cherry jam and combinations thereof).
