Thailand: Koh Samui – Koh Samui Beaches
Koh Samui is like the Thai version of Bora Bora – priced well above the more budget-like Phuket or Pattaya or Krabi. And tourists who come to Koh Samui are more elitist (seemingly) then the hordes that go elsewhere. And unlike with Bora Bora – it’s worth it here since the beaches are fantastic and long, with ultra-white sand and crystal waters (along the eastern coast). Chaweng Beach is the most famous, broken into Yai and Noi (north and south) parts. Lamai beach further to the south is also spectacular with an absolutely stunning long crescent of sand that can be viewed from a high viewpoint. On the north coast – Bophut Beach is picturesque but the water is rather silty and not clear.
