Colombia: Colombian Food Recap
Colombian food is rich, meat-heavy, and the portion are massive – there is usually a whole smorgasbord of grilled elements going on your plate piled up high over one another. Things that stood out were the ajiaco soup and banda ja paisa (the latter being traditional from Medellin – beans with ground beef, pork rind, grilled plantains, sausage, blood sausage, and fried egg). Colombia also has a good variety of beers and excellent coffee (although best coffee is exported and local people just drink instant coffee filtered junk).
