Colombia: Guatape
The colorful town of Guatape draws crowds of tourists – every house in the town is required by local law ordinance dating back around 100 years to be decorated with zocalos (colorful fresco-like panels or relief along the bottom of the house depicting either family history, or place of business, or animals, or basically something random (doves and sheep are most popular). Every house, doorway, window scream with colorful decorations. Guatape is often called the most colorful town in the world. There is also a spectacular white cathedral in the central square, also with its own zocalos.
