Kodiak Island: Driving Around Kodiak
Kodiak has only about 60mi of paved roads going north and south from the Kodiak town. And while it not much driving – the scenery is spectacular everywhere you look: bay after bay, mountains, forest, black beaches, and vistas. And it didn’t take long for the famous Kodiak brown bears to show up – two adolescent bear were running and playing on a wide river plain. How close can you get to them? As close as you want as long a you can outrun them at 35mph.
