Italy: Bari
IBari is a busy port and a relatively large town, but you can skip all that in its small old town historic quarter – Bari Vecchia. There’s a lot to see here – San Nicola basilica from 1097, San Sabino cathedral from 1156, massive fortress of Castello from 1233, narrow streets with arches and gates, a curve of the seafront promenade with the old port, and even some Roman ruins from the time Bari was known as Barium.
