Ukraine: Mezhyhirya – Yanukovich’s Car Collection

A humongous car garage held the Yanukovich car collection of retro Soviet and luxury foreign cars, now a Retro Auto Museum at Mezhyhirya National Park. Being a collector of scale models of Soviet cars, for me it was like being teleported into the full-scale version of my collection – starting with diminutive Zaporozhets to massive open top presidential parade ZILs. The collection is massive and extensive, perhaps even bigger then the similar display I saw in Nizhniy Novgorod in Russia at the actual GAZ factory. Zaporozhets, Moskvichs, ZIM, old Volgas, Chaikas, and in particular – almost all version of presidential-style ZILs. Total wow! And then there were also motorcycles, military jeeps, military antique trucks, and a couple foreign gems – all these were on the private car collection of the former President of Ukraine, Victor Yanukovich.
