USA/FL: Islamorada – Tarpon Feeding at Robbie’s

And we are on the way south to explore the Florida Keys. A must stop on Islamorada is the bar called Robbie’s where you can hand-feed the hungry tarpon fish. There are around a hundred massive tarpon swimming in the water just of the restaurant’s pier and you can buy a bucket of small fish and feed the tarpon. The Atlantic tarpon is a ferocious predator fish, growing to 8 feet long and 160kg/350lb. Long story short – someone wasn’t particularly careful with her hand and got bitten by hungry tarpon snapping the fish from her hand. Which was a plus – tasting the blood in the water, more tarpon came, making it for some awesome pictures!
