USA/FL: Key West – Fort Zachary Taylor State Park
Located in the Key West proper, Fort Zachary Taylor is often overlooked as an attraction in the otherwise jam-packed with tourist sites city. The fort was built in 1840s to protect the southernmost end of the Florida Keys island chain. Surrounded my deep moat, the fort feels almost sunk in the ground. The park has also some good beaches, usually packed with Key West tourists.
