USA/NJ: Atlantic City – Boardwalk
Atlantic City is often called the “Las Vegas of the East” for its casinos and entertainment. But the sad reality that it’s more of “poorman’s Las Vegas” – it’s casinos are perpetually near bankrupt, all infrastructure is aging and dilapidated, and whatever is left of the public is decidedly weird. The most famous attraction is the wooden Boardwalk, built in 1870 and running for 6 miles, with all the Atlantic City attraction lining up along it. The centerpiece is the Steel Pier from 1898, full of entertainment rides and the 227 feet Ferris Wheel. Above all, Atlantic City is about people watching and another peak of authentic America.
