Zimbabwe: Mana Pools NP – Nyalas
One of the least seen antelopes in Africa is nyala. My alas are quite large and look like the mix of kudu and bushbuck. Males have spectacular spiral-curved hornes and shaggy goat-like appearance. The females look completely different, with no horns and mush less hair. Nyalas are actually the most sexually dimorphic (different) antelopes in the world. Nyalas are very skittish and very difficult to see, running away into thick bush at the first sign of danger. We got super lucky to see there of them – one adult male and two young males coming to drink from Zambezi. Half an hour of watching and some awesome pics as a result!
