Tanzania: Lazy Lagoon Island – Greater Galagos aka Bushbabies

Greater galago is a primate and also known as a bushbaby and is a tough species to spot – it’s completely nocturnal and even at night it usually forages in a very thick jungle bush. We were told that several lives on the Lazy Lagoon islands and occasionally they come to the lodge restaurant. We spend about an hour after dinner waiting but the bushbaby didn’t show up. Oh well, we walked back to our bungalow, hearing the bushbabies on a prowl somewhere in the woods, but didn’t get to spot any. Fast forward to 2:30am, and they woke us up running on the rood of the bungalow! Long story short – we spend next hour photographing the bushbaby aka greater galago.
