Tanzania: Mikumi NP- Lion Pride
Mikumi National Park was so densely-packed with animals that it totally blew away many other African parks. And to top it all off – we came across a pride of lions that was 15-strong. We saw them at the beginning of the game drive in the morning and then later at the end of the daylong drive – and they haven’t moved at all. The 15 lions included 4 adult females and the rest being cubs of various ages (all over a year old). They lounged under a large tree, just taking turns to reposition themselves under the shade. Some younger ones played around while mothers mostly slept. But 15 lions within feet from you – that’s totally awesome!!
