Mexico/Baja Sur: La Poza Beach & Grey Whales

A little known beach north of Todos Santos is nothing short of spectacular – its massive, empty, wide strip of yellow sand goes for miles and miles and miles. No development and no hotels, just an empty shoreline. The beach is not swimmable here as the massive waves pound the shore non stop. But there is a bonus here – just standing on the beach you can see grey whales spouting and even spyhopping just within meters offshore! For real! In a brief half an hour we probably saw two dozen whales all over the coastline, just while standing in one spot. Absolutely awesome – whale watching from shore!
