Iceland: Djupalonssandur Black Beach
Djupalonssandur Beach and the area around is an absolute must see near the southwestern tip of the Snaefellsness peninsula and part of the vast national park. It’s absolutely spectacular with black lava sand and polished pebbles, long crescent of the coastline, and lava seastacks in the water being crashed by waves. Also here, are frozen rock formations from lava flows with arches and windows and the views of the icecap of the glacier in the far distance. An absolutely stunning spot!
