Iceland: Studlafoss & Studlagil Canyon
Very little visited or known, the Studlagil Canyon is a total gem – a canyon with walls made up of columnar basalt formations. It’s almost impossible to get down in the canyon without a long hike, so most of the views are from the top. Just a bit further is the Studlafoss, a tiered waterfall surrounded and framed by columnar basalt formation, quite similar to the much more famous Svartifoss in the south of the country. Here, you are likely to have the waterfall all to yourself.
