Iceland: Dyrholaey
Dyrholaey is the southernmost point of Iceland, a promontory hill sticking out into the ocean. It used to be an island that got joined with the mainland by lava flows. Dyrholaey is jam-packed with incredible attractions in all four directions – the lighthouse on top, the Dyrholaey sea arch beneath the cliffs to the south, the Reynisdrangar beach with seastacks to the east, the panorama of a long and wide black sand beach to the north, the and the insane inaccessible sea cliffs, packed with birds. Second time on this Icelandic saga we came face to face with puffins!
