Saudi Arabia: Jazan – Jazan Heritage Village
We made it to the southwesternmost point of Saudi Arabia in Jazan, a port and a busy trading center. Jazan Heritage Village, located just outside of the city, is a restored settlement and a museum with traditional architecture and artifacts repressing this part of the country just in the border with Yemen. There is the traditional three-story house, Al Baitul Jabali. There is also a model of a traditional mid hut with was figures in traditional costumes and guns and knives (national pride here) on the walls, as well as many archaeological artifacts. And just a short walk away is the Red Sea shore where you dip your feet in!
