Jersey: German command bunkers and fortifications
Jersey was heavily fortified throughout its history by whoever possessed it – castles, towers, coastal barriers. But no one did as much as Germans during the 5-year WWII occupation. Insane amount of cement were poured along the entire coastline to built massive multistory over- and underground bunkers, 20th century impregnable observation towers, command headquarters, gun batteries, and much more. All with quality German construction which will outlast every other structure on the island. Several of the command bunkers are now museums of occupation with completely restored officers quarters, down to the pictures of blonde German bikini-clad Arian-blonde girls pasted on the walls in soldiers locker rooms.
