Poland: Torun – Old Town
Torun is a medieval old town in northern Poland that has a perfectly preserved old town with many brick-built gothic buildings, cathedral and churches, massive townhall, all surrounded by city walls. Miraculously, almost nothing was damaged in WWII. Torun is the birthplace of Nicolas Kopernokus, there is also an observatory in his name. Among other interesting building are a “leaning house” and a “house under the star”. In fact, Torun has the largest number of preserved gothic houses in Poland, with beautiful decorations inside and out.
