Thailand: Songkhla Central Mosque
Thailand has a significant Muslim population and a lot of Malay visiting and residing here, hence a massive mosque near Hat Yai. The Songkhla Central Mosque aka “Thailand’s Taj Mahal” aka Masjid Melayu (Malay Mosque) is a massive modern mosque and with a lot of decoration of elegant Islamic architectural and art styles – the mosque is atmospheric inside and out and the minarets are very high and slender. This place has become one of the most famous worship centres in Hat Yai and many Malaysians come here across the border on bus tours. The mosque was built in 2001. No restrictions on non-Muslims entering and everyone’s super friendly.
