Tonga/Vava‘u: Neiafu
Neiafu is the main town of any size on Vavau, located in from of the beautiful deep harbor. The town is really just one main street going along the high ground along the shoreline. A bunch of administrative buildings and Chinese-run shops are scattered along. Most of the good restaurants are down at the water, mostly empty during the off-whale watching season (Keaken and Mango are the best). There is also a local market, a covered building with stalls with a few ladies selling fruits and vegetables – amazing ripe local pineapple is fantastic!
