Solomon Islands: Kolombangara – Spinner Dolphins
Another highlight of zodiac cruising along the Kolombangara Island was spotting large pods of spinner dolphins. These medium to small sized dolphins are famous for their acrobatic jumps and spinning, but the ones we saw were just swimming around and being inquisitive but rather quiet. Spinner dolphins are almost always in large pods, hunting together and socializing. Several came really close to zodiac, quite a few had babies. Spinner dolphins can be found in tropical water worldwide.
