Solomon Islands: Kwai & Ngongosila Islands
Known as two sister islands, Kwai and Ngongosila sit outside the much larger Malaita Island. Both are populated to the max, as people moved away from the larger island, perhaps escaping tribal fighting or the widespread malaria. Now the small islets are over-populated and actually sinking with the rising seas and global warming, and any incoming cyclone could just wipe them out. The locals welcomed us open-heartedly and with big smiles and we went all around the island, got invited into houses, saw local churches, fishing boats, and much more.
