Papua New Guinea: Tsoilik Island – Exploring Forest
Tsoilik is a small fringe reef island, sandy and subject to tidal flooding. The rainforest comes close to the shoreline and is amazing to explore. There is endemic birdlife, land crabs, bizarre flora, geckos and slinks, strange insects and interesting wildflowers. There were several species of very pretty tree-dwelling orchids.
