Algeria: Tassili n’Ajjer NP – Wadis
The night before we arrived in Djanet, there was a rainfall, the first in three years in this area. We got lucky to visit two wadi area – normally dry river bed canyons, but now filled with rainwater. Tassili n’Ajjer is primarily a desert region and warer sources in this area are scarce due to its arid climate. These wadis are essential for the sparse vegetation and any wildlife in the region. Hiking into the wadis, we were surrounded by spectacular rock formation and also some bizarre plants along the way.
