Cuba: Santiago de Cuba – Mercado La Plaza
Mercado La Plaza is the main marketplace of Santiago de Cuba. Perhaps at one time it was a large place full of sellers and buyers and stalls overloaded with produce. But with the Cuban economy going through serious stagnation, the pickings are slim here – a few sellers with some fruits, some pork cuts, a couple vegetables and spices. People are still super friendly and smiling, despite all the hardships.
