Ivory Coast: Korthogo – Sienlow Sacred Rock

Not far from Korthogo in the northern Ivory Coast lies the sacred site of Sienlow Rock, a large monolith that the Senufu people come to carry out various sacrificial rituals. The Senufo regard Mont Sienlow as a sacred place, believing it to have descended from the sky. People from various parts of the country come here to seek solutions to their problems – financial, love, deceased, etc – and perform rituals – sacrificing goats and chicken. You can see blood splattered everywhere and feathers plastered all over the rock.
