France: Pyrenees Nat’l Park – Cirque de Troumouse
Cirque de Troumouse is another spectacular glacial cirque in the Pyrenees, and unlike the Gavarnie Cirque (see previous post), this one is not crowded and also the road to the top is beyond spectacular twisting and turning and rising over dozens and dozens of hairpins. The cirque itself is dramatically different looking – it is much higher in the alpine zone, no trees here, just endless green meadows and pastures and the snow on top of the wall of mountain peaks surrounding it. In the middle of the massive cirque is an elevated hill offering a surreal 360 degree alpine panorama that is truly breathtaking.
