Burundi: Bujumbura – Lake Tanganyika Beaches

Lake Tanganyika is the second largest freshwater lake in the world as well as the second deepest in the world (both titles are held by Baikal in Russia). Bujumbura, the capital of Burundi, sits on the lakeshore and boasts some nice beaches. There are several beach clubs along the shoreline with nice views, cold drinks, and great food (including grilled mukeke fish straight from the lake). People do swim in it, but I saw a hippo within meters offshore so not sure swimming is a great idea here
