Kiribati: Abatao Island
On the tip of another North Tarawa islet sits Tabon Te Keekee ecolodge. Once again, it’s not really a lodge but a few traditional over-water huts on stilts with thatched roof and walls and open-air windows. At high tide – you are completely over water and surrounded as far as the eyes can see with the blue lagoon. Or you can just swing in hammock all day, away from tourists and cities, sipping on pandanus juice. If you wanna get away from it all – this is the place. But hurry up, global warming and rising oceans may alter this quite soon.
