Kenya: Hell’s Gate National Park – Gorges & Walls
Hell’s Gate National Park is not famous for animals but for landscapes of scenic wall ridges, and stone towers, and slot-like gorges. The Upper Gorge has broad flat plains that are bordered by massive thousand feet high columnar basalt walls and a volcanic plug Fisher Tower sticking out in the middle. In the Lower Gorge, you descend into the ravine with walls sculpted by flash floods. The stream here is being fed by many hot springs spewing scalding hot water from the canyon walls. Many beautiful waterfalls and narrow passages make it feel like you are in the American Southwest.
