Grenada: Nutmeg

Grenada is known as the “Island of Spice” – nutmeg was introduced to the island in 1843 and has become the number one crop since. In fact, Grenada supplies 40% of the world’s nutmeg. in 2004, hurricane Ivan seriously damaged the nutmeg trees but they have since recovered.
