Netherlands: De Haar Castle

The medieval 15th century De Haar Castle lay in ruins until 1887 until the guy who inherited the castle married into the Rothschild family and the latter decided to restore the premises in a Neo-Gothic style. The result was an amazing fairy-tale fortress with towers, ramparts, and lavishly decorated rooms.
