Belarus: Mir Castle

Mir Castle is a UNESCO World Heritage listed fortress, now fully restored. A classic-looking European-style fortress with high walls and five defensive towers, it was built in the 16th century. It is the grandest castle in Belarus. Interestingly, during WWII, the Nazis converted the castle into a Jewish ghetto.
