Afghanistan: Afghani Food Recap
Spectacular Central Asian food served center-floor (no chairs) style! Kabuli palaw is the national dish of Afghanistan – pilaf long-grain rice with spices, raisins, carrots, and huge chunks of grilled lamb. Afghani flat naan bread goes with that. Then there were ashak – dumpling-like squares filled with chives inside and beens on top. And of course, straight-off-the-fire lamb and chicken kabobs accompanied with freshest vegetables. A giant glass of freshly-squeezed (right in front of you) pomegranate juice went well too!
