Aldabra: Aldabra Atoll – Birds of Aldabra

Besides the flightless Aldabra rail (see previous post), Aldabra Atoll is home to several bird species that are either endemic or near-endemic, meaning they are found only on the atoll or in very few other places. Truly endemic species include Aldabra Drongo, Aldabra Fody, and Aldabra Green Pigeon. As well as semi-endemic like Madagascar Kestrel, Madagascar sacred ibis, Seychelles sunbird, Madagascar coucal, and several others.
