The Emir Abdelkader Mosque in is one of the most impressive mosques in the country. The mosque was completed in 1994 and is named after Emir Abdelkader, a prominent Algerian leader and national hero who fought against French colonial forces in the 19th century. It is one of the largest mosques in Africa, capable of accommodating thousands of worshippers. The mosque features a large prayer hall and expansive courtyards. The mosque has a large central dome and two tall minarets, which reach a height of 107 m (351 feet). The minarets are visible from many parts of the city and have become iconic symbols of Constantine.The interior of the mosque is beautifully decorated with intricate Islamic art, including calligraphy, geometric patterns, and ornate chandeliers. The near incredible use of marble adds to the mosque’s grandeur.
