Algeria: Royal Mausoleum of Mauretania
This burial ground looks and feels like an Egyptian Pyramid and is closely related to them – this is in fact a tomb preserving the king and queen of Juba, a kingdom that followed the Egyptian Empire in the North Africa. The king and queen buried here are Juba II and Cleopatra Selene II (actually the daughter of Cleopatra of Egypt and Mark Anthony). The mausoleum is a massive circular structure with a burial chamber (not accessible) deep inside its bowels. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
