Amazonas: Flying over the Amazon

Am absolutely surreal experience is to fly over the Anavilhanas island archipelago over the Rio Negro. The largest inland island archipelago in the world of over 400 islands, the Anavilhanas look stunning from high above with the black waters of the river slicing and cutting the verdant rainforest into long strains on land. A once in a lifetime experience for sure and a totally unique and different perspective of the Amazon ecosystem.
