Andorra: Skiing at Grandvalira
Grandvalira is the easternmost part of Andorra, bordering on Spain and France. It’s all high peaks and snow-clad mountains of the Pyrenees and it’s also home to the largest ski resort in the entire mountain range. There are at least five mountain peaks here that rise to above 2,800 m or 9,000 fr. The most popular areas are Pas de la Casa and Grou Roig, both connect near Pic Blanc. We got both lucky and unlucky at the same time – a snowstorm was dumping nearly 30cm of fresh powder, but the fog conditions were near complete whiteout – and skiing ungroomed fresh powder in zero visibility is tough.
