Angolan food definitely takes a lot of influence from the Portuguese cuisine. At times I almost though I was in Brazil or Portugal. Bacalhau aka salted cod is present almost in every restaurant – a remnant when Portuguese sailors used to survive on salted fish which traveling longing distances. Fresh seafood, especially octopus, is fantastic in Angola. There are about half a dozen beer brands, as well as some stringer liqueur concoctions.
