Angola: Kissama NP – Pluto Blue Monkeys
Pluto Blue Monkeys is a species of the Blue Monkey that is endemic to and only found in western Angola in the Kissama National Park. Despite the name, they are not blue, but black to grey with whitish faces. Unlike mane other animals that were almost annihilated during the Angolan civil war, these monkey survived more or less unscathed as they habituated themselves to humans and survived on handovers. Even today, as you drive through the national park, you mostly see these monkeys along the major roads as they come out begging for food from the passing cars.
