Angola: Mocamedes aka Namibe

The road from Lubango descends from. High escarpment down to the coast and and the Namib Desert, the main town being Mocademes. The town is a major Angolan port and was known as Namibe for most of its existence until being renamed in 2016 (I can bet it will soon get renamed back because nobody is using the new name whatsoever). Besides being the port and the terminus of a railroad, it’s increasingly becoming a tourist gateway ti explore the vast and absolutely spectacular Namib Desert to the south, and rugged and beautiful coastline to the north.
